Michael Brooks is an instructor at Bowling Green State University, concentrating on the development and teaching of online courses with the BGSU Center for Online and Blended Learning (COBL). His current academic research interests are in the roles of epidemic disease in history as well as the history of the colonial Atlantic. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Toledo, graduating with departmental and University honors. He completed his Master's thesis at UT, and will soon defend his doctoral dissertation. His principal fields of historical study at the doctoral level were in modern Europe, Latin America, and European expansion.
